LIVINGSTON COUNTY — A Livingston County resident will serve between 1 1/2 to 5 years in state prison for grand larceny and falsifying business records after stealing from Sweetners Plus in Lakeville.
Martin Flickner, 49, will pay a restitution of $25,000 to the involved parties. His lawyer, Thomas Splain, stated that $20,000 would be repaid by funds taken out of the defendant's trust fund.
"I apologize for anything that went on," said Flickner to Judge Dennis Cohen prior to sentencing.
The charges date back to offenses that occurred between July 2008 and January 2009. Livingston County Assistant District Attorney Kyle Mackay handled the case for the people.
"Your gift to be likable and make business deals has turned out to be your curse," said Judge Cohen during sentencing.
