Dansville Family Making Funeral Arrangements Instead of Back-to-School

DANSVILLE — Instead of getting school supplies for their child a Dansville family is making funeral arrangements.

Boyd Hilligus IV, the 14-year-old boy who was killed while riding his mountain bike in Dansville, was on his way to a friends house when he was tragically killed Monday evening.

"He brought so much happiness to our family," said Sherri Nichols, his Aunt. "We're in shock right now."

Boyd was getting ready to enter 8th grade at Dansville Central School and could be seen riding his bike all through Town, he was going to his friends in search of a new cell phone.

The family is now coping with funeral arrangements and financial challenges because his mother has been out of work due to illness.

The family has made a Facebook Page in his honor where people can share memories and photographs.

"He would always be joking around, he was the life of our family gatherings. At 14-years-old this shouldn't happen." said Nichols.

Much needed donations can be made to the Chamberlin-Baird Funeral Home 73 Main Street, Dansville.
