Fatal Accident in LeRoy

LEROY— In the Village of LeRoy this morning, Marie Costa of LeRoy, 88, was involved in an Motor Vehicle Accident which resulted in her death.

Ms.Costa's vehicle jumped the curb in front of a McDonald's Restaurant and continued along the South sidewalk of LeRoy's Main Street. The accident concluded at the old Pontillo's Restaurant at 46 1/2 Main Street, resulting in damage to the building.

The LeRoy Fire Department, LeRoy Ambulance, LeRoy DPW and the Genesee County Sheriff’s “Crash Management Unit” assisted at the scene. The investigation into the cause of this tragic accident is ongoing.
