Manhunt Over, Dustin Tschiderer Captured by Livingston County Sheriff Deputies

AVON — After a 36-hour manhunt Livingston County Sheriff Deputies captured a suspected car thief at family members residence in Livingston County.

Dustin Tschiderer, 28, was captured at a relatives residence on Christmas Day after allegedly stealing a car in Geneseo and fleeing from authorities in which he temporarily out distanced  helicopters, State Police, K-9 units, and Livingston County Sheriff authorities.

"There's a lot more to this then people know," said Tschiderer, on his way into Avon Town Court for arraignment in front of Judge Piampiano. "I didn't steal the car, I was told it was a buddies girlfriend's."

Allegedly Tschiderer took the car from Second Street in Geneseo in the early hours of Christmas Eve Day and then fled North towards Avon. After fleeing from Police he turned into Farview Golf Course, drove across the course and then fled on foot.

After being captured by Livingston County Sheriff Deputies Brosius, Swanson,Williams, Herkimer along with K-9 Oxo, and Sgt. Dougherty, Tschiderer was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. He was then cleared medically and arraigned at Avon Town Court before midnight on Christmas day.

This is not Tschiderer's first experience with law enforcement officials. in 2009, he was arrested by the Secret Service for using forged $20 bills at the Walmart Geneseo.

When asked by the GeneseeSun.com on why he is constantly in hot water he said, "I make stupid decisions."

So far he has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment. More charges in Geneseo are expected.
