LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Women with little or no health insurance can stop by three Livingston County health centers from Feb. 27 through March 2 to receive free mammograms.
Women may get their free mammograms at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, Livingston Health Services in Geneseo and Elizabeth Wende Breast Care, LLC in Geneseo. Women screened during these events will receive a free gift.
A clinical breast exam is required before receiving a mammogram. To make an appointment, call 1-800-588-8670. Rides are provided for those in need.
The Cancer Services Program of Livingston and Wyoming Counties can pay for breast and cervical cancer screenings for women 40 years of age or older who have little or no health insurance. Colon cancer screenings are also available to uninsured women and men ages 50 or older.
The free mammograms are sponsored in part by a grant from The Central New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Those who plan to attend the events must register by Feb 27.
