GENESEO — The Village of Geneseo Police department has announced that 11 women, including some who were affiliated with the SUNY girls volleyball program, have been charged with hazing in the 1st degree and unlawfully dealing with a child, both misdemeanors.
The women, all from various parts of New York State, were allegedly blindfolding and handcuffing freshman members of the team and forcing them to drink. As a result one woman was sent to Noyes Memorial Hospital to be treated for alcohol poisoning.
SUNY Geneseo has suspended the girls volleyball season pending an investigation.
