AVON — A disabled vehicle on I-390 turned into more than just a courtesy stop for a Livingston County Sheriff Deputy.
Livingston County Sheriff Deputy, William Cartwright, stopped to assist a disabled vehicle on the highway when after identifying the people in the vehicle it was allegedly discovered that one of them, Justin Jacobs, 24, had a warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation. While conducting the background checks Jacobs sprang from the car fleeing on foot from the Interstate into East Avon.
Sheriff's patrols responded to the area to set up a perimeter and Jacobs was taken into custody shortly thereafter. Avon Village Police Officer Richard Cole assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene.
Jacobs was arraigned before Avon Town Justice Michael Torregiano and remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $5000 cash bail.
